The very gorgeous KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN launched the women's safety app VithU, an initiative of Star Network, in association with Channel V, on Friday, December 20th, 2013.
In today's time, when women feel unsafe in every city of our country, this app is a great shield of protection for them. Women can use this app as a safety device and call out for help with just one click of a button.
Kareena, who looked resplendent in an Anamika Khanna creation, said that she was eager to join this initiative as she feels no one is safe in the city anymore. She is really proud to be a part of this noble cause.
Kareena also mentioned that actors should come forward to take up such causes because they have a wider reach. And as they are role models for the public, the common man would be urged to support and spread such society-changing initiatives.
When asked whether she feels safe in Mumbai, she replied, "I felt safe two years ago. But in the last two years, there is an uneasiness in the city of Mumbai. The recent crimes against women have left some kind of unsafety even in our city, not only in Delhi. If such cases can happen in the capital then these can happen anywhere. A feeling of unrest is always there in me."
She further added, " If I am shooting at night my mother is worried about me. She stays awake as much as possible when I am shooting late at night or early morning. I have to message her everyday when I reach back home."
